Once upon a time, in the late 80’s my father passionately enlightened me about the marvels of computers, how it would erase the existence of typewriters and change the world. I would roll my eyes in boredom in front of the desk top while he enthusiastically teaches me how to use the-oh-so complicated various commands of MS-DOS which my teenage mind refuse to process. At the same time, he would diligently nag me to type with my 10 fingers, expecting his first born child to type elegantly like a pro.

Some years later, with the growing public interest of the internet, my father guided me into the magical world of cyberspace. It was the start of my healthy addiction to surfing, chatting and emailing. When I left for University, emails and chats were my cure for homesickness, because phone and cell phone bills were still very pricey.

Now, almost 15 years later phone bills are still relatively expensive, especially when I live 1700km away from my parents; where a passport, a bus, an airplane, a car and an exchange currency are normally needed to reach there.

Hence, this is the major reason I have started this blog. I believe it is a good platform for silaturahim, a place where my family and friends can catch up with me virtually through photos and words.

My name is Aini. I was born in Jakarta and raised in 4 countries. I’ve been a foreigner most of my life and I still am. I’ve served and cooked for VIPs and Kings, issued visas and passports, assisted researches of professors, handled international student affairs and enjoyed the freedom as a freelance/home entrepreneur. I don't know what will come next but right now I would like to devote my time and energy in trying to be the best mother to Aini Attaheera and the best wife to Asif Zamri.
